Ptil Tekhelet Factory Tours
About This Vendor:
The Israeli non-profit organization Ptil Tekhelet offers tours of their factory, which is located approximately 20 minutes east of Jerusalem in Kfar Adumim. You can observe the entire wool dyeing process, see an aquarium with live Murex snails that are used for tekhelet, watch a video about the history and making of tekhelet, learn about the tying of tzitzit strings, and view the exposed wool turn color from purple (argaman) to tekhelet as it is exposed to the air. There is also a small zoo on the premises where children can look at the animals and ride on the donkeys while their parents take the tekhelet factory tour. The tour generally lasts for about an hour to an hour and a half, and reservations should be made in advance. Contact the Ptil Tekhelet Factory for more information or to reserve a date for a Ptil Tekhelet factory tour. Why We Like This Vendor:
The tour is fun and educational for visitors of all ages. The location is convenient from Jerusalem; and if you are on your way down to the Dead Sea, it's along the way. Vendor Reviews
